Noah’s Ark Christian Preschool began as a ministry of the First Baptist Church of Longwood in 1985, under the name of Noah’s Ark Child Care Center. The program operated out of the church’s educational building and served children ages birth through school age.
At the same time a private, Christian school, The Master’s Academy, leased space also in the educational building for their school teaching kindergarten through fifth grade.
As both ministries grew The Master’s Academy had an interest in managing the childcare center and started doing so in 1995. This is when the Center’s name changed to Noah’s Ark Christian Preschool and the after school program for school age children was discontinued. Later Noah’s Ark Christian Preschool began teaching children 2 years through 5 years of age as its expertise and focus became more defined.
Over the years TMA continued to see growth and eventually moved its elementary school to its own property in Oviedo (click here for a link to their website www.mastersacademy.org). However, this move forced a decision to be made and the First Baptist Church of Longwood decided they would like to once again have the preschool be part of their church ministry.
Since The Master’s Academy vacated the educational building the facilities have since been leased to Choices in Learning (click here for a link to their website www.choicesinlearning.org). Choices in Learning is a charter school of the Seminole County Public School system and offers grades kindergarten through sixth.
CIL and Noah’s Ark operate well together in the same, yet separate facility and exist as individual schools. However, the preschool does maintain a relationship with Choices in Learning, as well as The Master’s Academy still, offering discounts and advantages for families that have siblings at one campus or another.
