Noah's Ark Preschool Philosophy
Noah's Ark exists to partner with parents in the care and education of their children ages, 2, 3 & 4 while giving children an introduction to the love of God and a solid sense of self-worth.
We believe that a sense of self-worth and a knowledge of the love of Jesus are as important for children as their care and education. When children feel good about themselves they are more likely to be productive and higher achievers. Any staff member's role is to enable, encourage and facilitate the development of self-worth and teach the love of God to children in their care. This is done particularly through daily instruction of Bible stories, the verbal praise of children, the encouragement of their efforts and a consistent and positive dialog between staff members and children.
Staff members also strive to meet the growing physical needs of children while equipping them with habits and skills that will prepare them for the future. A child's day is well planned to ensure that experiential, child-directed activities and teacher-directed activities take place to include small and large motor development, but also that a child's health and safety is provided for first and foremost.

At Noah's Ark, we believe that healthy relationships are built when both staff and children treat each other with respect. Through all of the fun of childhood there remains a need for self-control, guidance and natural consequences. This enables children to be equipped to grow in wisdom and maturity, resolving of conflicts and understanding the choices they make. Children do not know naturally how to express their feelings respectfully or resolve conflict correctly or put the needs of someone else above their own. These virtues must be role modeled and taught. Children need instruction and practice in the areas of manners, kindness and self-control. Children are given such practice and also boundaries and the freedom to make choices with the understanding that a consequence always accompanies a choice. This philosophy is put into practice in every age classroom in a way that is gentle, yet firm and age appropriate and that can be built upon year after year and in the home. At Noah's Ark Christian Preschool we want to tell children more of what they should be doing, not what they shouldn't be.
Noah's Ark Christian Preschool welcomes parents to partner in our efforts. We invite the assistance of parents to help us achieve the purposes of the program. Many opportunities are made available for a parent's involvement. However, the routines and goals of the program are not dependent upon the involvement of any parent, but are viewed as a helpful blessing if available. Staff members support this belief through their invitations of classroom reading, cooking, creating, etc. to parents, but scheduling the same plans even if no volunteers are available.
Noah's Ark Christian Preschool believes that children deserve an opportunity to attend a preschool that at a minimum is a safe, clean and happy place. Care is taken to ensure that these standards and so much more are met through policies, procedures, and attitudes as a normal practice. Providing such a place for children is more than our philosophy. It is our ministry and mission.
